lyrics

Gypsy woman met a gypsy man,
they traveled the world baking gypsy bread.
They didn’t set out to change the world,
they got together and made a baby girl.

And she danced, danced, danced.

She danced all night with her friends.
She danced all night until the end,
of that one fateful night
when she saw a man get stabbed in a fight.

And he cried, cried, cried.

He cried out for the aid of a stranger.
He cried so loud until there was no danger.
They took him to the hospital, where he met the nurse,
who had seen so many she thought she was cured.

And she sighed, sighed, sighed.

She went home and turned on the T.V.
She saw the report about the man in need.
Her husband saw that she was upset.
He told her to rest her head on his chest.

And he smiled, smiled, smiled.

He went to work that next day.
He’s got to go to the grind so he can get paid.
His boss sits in his office drinking to get tipsy,
questioning his existence and wishing he was a gypsy.

And he quit, quit, quit.

Because,

Gypsy woman met a gypsy man.
They traveled the world baking gypsy bread.
They didn’t set out to change the world.
They got together and made a baby girl.

And she danced, danced, danced.
